Microlovr
Never one to stand in the spotlight, Kit 'Microlovr' Kemp-Gee has been a regular on the underground music scene for the past 15 years. Nevertheless his raw talent has earned him an impeccable reputation for delivering the most innovative and upfront tunes with a sense of timing that will make you shiver.
Think hip hop vocals, a smattering of rock guitars, electronic weirdness and heavy basslines to die for and you'd be only halfway to what you get from his live performances.
Although focussed mainly on the electro and breakbeat dancefloor styles Microlovr should not be pigeonholed as such with his sets drawing on influences from a wide range of music (he names Dinosaur Jr., Public Enemy, Carl Craig, Terry Callier and Black Sabbath among his favourites). This diversity appeals to fans across the board and in his own words "I play dance music for people who think they don't like dance music".
2006 saw Platform 12 take him under it's wing and as their newest resident he has DJed alongside the likes of Stanton Warriors, Krafty Kuts, Koma & Bones, A Skills, Evil Nine, D Ramirez, Mason and many more.
